The Social Change Initiative (SCI) and the European Programme for Integration and Migration (EPIM) organised a convening that focused on effective ways for civil society to engage in public narrative building, and policy making, concerning migration and refugee protection in the current environment. This event was held in Brussels on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th February 2017.

The event was designed to provide an opportunity for civil society organisations (CSOs) from across Europe to reflect and take stock of current challenges and opportunities through the sharing of insights and the provision of a range of new studies and information relating to strategic communication, messaging and policy learning.

The programme included a mix of plenary sessions and interactive workshops that allowed delegates to share experience and insights in a peer learning exercise. A key focus of the gathering will be around sharing lessons as to what has worked and what barriers have been encountered, in order to support the development of new thinking and strategies. In addition, a range of recently commissioned work will be shared for discussion.
