Monday 24th – Wednesday 26th April 2017
This exploratory seminar aims to draw together global experience and insights of peace activists and analysts with the objective of influencing those currently waging war, and their supporters, to opt for non-violent alternatives. The emphasis will be on identifying tactics and strategies based on the premise that transforming conflict and building peace is possible. It is accepted that there is an urgent need to identify collective and game-changing conflict-wide impacts by effectively aligning strategies necessary for significant progress towards durable peace. The challenge is to achieve political alignment between the security, political, humanitarian, diplomatic, intelligence, human rights and peacebuilding sectors, as well as between the grassroots, regional, national and international actors to develop a coherent, aligned, sustained and democratic process of conflict prevention, resolution and peacebuilding.
The Social Change Initiative is happy to support this important gathering.
