Chrisann Jarrett

Chrisann’s personal migration story plays a significant part in her campaigning and leadership roles over the past few years having been born in Jamaica and arriving in UK to join her mum at 8 years old. Chrisann has recognised how limited opportunities are when growing up in UK with Jamaican national status including lack of student loan to follow academic route. Young migrants are systemically blocked by government policies and poor navigation of UK immigration system. Chrisann is founder of Let Us Learn which campaigns for change and to promote conditions that young migrants face when trying to fully participate in British society. Through her own efforts she has secured a scholarship and graduated from university. Chrisann recognises that the the voices of migrant young people are not fully integrated and is working to with young people to enable them to identify the problems they face, and to enable their involvement in the decision making processes.
